INVITATION TO BID: USAID funded Takunda Resilience Food Security Activity (RFSA) Project in Manicaland (Mutare and Buhcra districts) and Masvingo (Chivi and Zaka districts). Social and Behavior Change (SBC) Formative Research Study and Development of the SBC Strategy for the Takunda (RFSA) Project CARE International and its partners FHI 360, Bulawayo Projects Centre (BPC), hternational Youh foundation (iyfj, national action zimbabwe (naz) and environment africa seek to appoint a qualified and experienced consultant who should be able to lead the sb С formative research study and develop an sbc strategy for the usaid funded takunda rfsa project. the project has the overall goal to promote sustainable, equitable, and resilient food, nutrition and income security in manicaland and masvingo. the consultant should be able to develop an informed sbc strategy that help ensure sustainable achievement of all project purposes. objectives of the consultancy lead the takunda sbc formative research study which seeks to; 1. understand community structures, dynamics, and networks across takunda project areas and engage them to identify positive devionts, early adopters and barriers and facilitators to household and community access to and participation inlivelhoodand res Я ience building activities. 2. explore experiences of men, women, youth, and adolescent boys and girls in community leadership and decision-making rotes (livelhoods, health, and resilience) to identify determinants to effective group participation,management, and achievement of group objectives. 3. identrfy spedfic social, cultural, and other drivers and determinants affecting food and nutrition security at individual, household, and community levels, and for specified target audiences (men, women, youth, adolescent boys/girls, older persons, and families). 4. explore fadotscontributng to maternal and child nutrition and hygiene knowledge-practice gap. 5. identrfy effective engagement, action, communication activities, programmatic audiences, including their reference groups (stakeholder, religious/cultural leaders) for promoting desirable behaviors among takunda target communities. 6. apply the tips methodology to try out a few selected nutrition and wash behaviors to promote amongst takunda program communities. 7. draft the takunda sbc st rategy informed by findings from the formative reseorchstudy.
